Getting ready for a photoshoot?

If you are going to spend hours taking photos of someone, you might as well formally ask the rights to use her/his image without having to contact them every time you need to prepare new material. For this you will need an Image Release Form, in other words: a contract between you and the person you photographed or filmed with. Simply, these are the terms and conditions agreed between both parts.

Some paragraphs are expected to feature in every release form, be it paid work or a collaboration, and it covers printed and online media, as well as other usage formats such as exhibitions, advertising, and other scenarios.

The template you will find here is a draft and you will have to tailor it to your needs, adding or removing content to make sure it covers all necessary rights to use videos, photos and audio.
